The Solar Guide

Don’t Overpay For Solar

The cost of solar can vary wildly according to brand, roof conditions and who the person is selling you solar.

The man who literally wrote the book on solar, Founder of Finn Peacock, has put together a simple guide so you can check that you’re getting good value.

Solar System Price Guide

3kW: $3,500 - $5,000

5kW: $5,000 - $8,000

6kW: $5,600 - $9,000

10kW: $10,000 - $14,000

As of November 2018, approximate prices for good quality solar panel systems

in Australia (Tier 1 panels + quality string inverter), fully installed.

Note: Regional customers will usually pay 10% more for a solar system.

Toyotas, BMWs & Lemons

The brands you choose and the quality of your installer will determine where in the price range your system should be. Here’s a non-exhaustive list of reputable brands and what to pay for them.

Finn’s Pro Tip: Ask for the cash price if your installer is offering Zero Interest Finance.
